Confirming your email proves control of your account. Facility verification is a separate step. Follow the evidence and role requirements shown in the claim flow; a submitted claim does not give unrestricted access to someone else’s records.
For field technicians
Search before you arrive. Review available tank details, source dates, and any gaps. Public records need no account. Sign in to the portal for additional records your facility manager has authorized you to access.
TankID QR codes open their linked facility or tank directly. No working code? Use the facility search. For ongoing work and authorized private records, sign in to the portal.
For service companies
Use public lookup to prepare for a job. An authorized facility manager can use the portal’s Team Access tools to invite colleagues and manage facility access. Each person uses their own account; permissions depend on their assigned role.
Claim registry coverage: Texas and Colorado
The separate claim registry contains copies of state UST facility records from Texas and Colorado. Expansion to other states is planned. Fields and source dates vary. A missing record can reflect a coverage, import, or search gap.

How do I get my facility into TankID?
Find & claim a facility by identifying the site you own or operate. We check for an existing TankID record and available state records. Review the match, then follow the appropriate claim or access steps before adding information and sharing with your service team.
Where do I go if I already use TankID?
Sign in to the portal for your authorized facilities, tanks, and ongoing work. In the field, scan a QR code to open its linked record, or use the facility search when scanning is not possible.
Is TankID free?
Claiming your facility, storing its records in TankID, and sharing them with authorized service providers are free. No credit card required.
What if my site is only a state record?
Confirm the name and address, then select “Review site and claim”. An authorized owner can create an account, confirm their email, and follow the claim and verification steps. This provides a path to add tank details and documents, keep records together, and share with authorized service providers. State copies are not verified tank information; a claim alone does not verify the tank information.
Do I need an account to search?
No. Public lookup needs no account. Sign in for claiming and functions that require permission.
Who can see my records?
State-sourced public records are public. Access to private documents and additional records depends on facility permissions. Authorized managers can share them with service providers.
Does a claim confirm compliance or update the state record?
No. A claim connects your account to a facility in TankID. Contributions do not change the regulator’s official records, and verification of a relationship is not a compliance certification.
What if there is no match?
If your facility is not found in the claim search, sign up for a free TankID account, or sign in to the portal if you already have an account. Once signed in to the portal, you can manually create your facility and add any associated tanks.
Before creating a facility, double-check its ID, name, address, and state to avoid a duplicate. State-record search currently covers Texas and Colorado, with other states planned. Contact TankID if you need help.
Can I manage multiple facilities?
Find and claim sites individually, or request help with a group of sites. A help request does not automatically approve claims.

Existing TankID records and copies of state records are identified separately. Check each record’s source and date. Read about data sources.
